Much of the reason Scientology has been able to downplay and curb bad press about their organization is through legal bullying. They employ an army of lawyers who control antagonists inside and outside the organization. They also do other, like buying the old crisis hotline for people who are stuck in a cult. Now, when people call for help for themselves or their loved ones, they accidentally report the details to Scientologists, not to people trying to help them. These people represent the worst form of harassment. Don`t connect with them; And they are not harmless. Note mod – there was some concern that this post is too promotional and positive about Scientology. We will not remove it as we have no evidence of irregular behavior, but we remind all users to take all claims made in an AMA with a grain of salt and consider the kind of reasons a person might have for creating such a message. ELI5: Why are governments legally allowed to have heavily guarded bases and prisons around the world? It is quite obvious that many people, including me, do not agree with the government`s taxation and regulation of me and my property.

Doesn`t this mean that the Church of Scientology has more legitimacy than the government? It reminds me of the guy who came to my store to buy replacement clips for his little Scientology electric shock device. You are mixing up your legal terms. “Reasonable doubt” would not preclude prosecution (criminal conviction only), but they still need a “probable reason” to walk through the door. It seems to me that the police would find all sorts of things twisted if they could get a search warrant. Unfortunately, these guys have an impressive legal team. “Reasonable doubts” also have nothing to do with a civil action. The standard of proof required is a “preponderance of evidence”, which in reality is only more than 50%. I`ve spent the last few months trying to get my money back, and it`s been a doozy. The organization is designed as a Chinese finger trap for its money and members, and I learned a few things along the way. I may have some advice for new defectors (believe me, it`s common) who are trying to fix their lives and finances. The silver bullet for me was to dispute transactions with my credit card companies due to the denial of the refund they offer within 90 days. I would have been crushed or driven if I had tried to legally demand my money from the church, but by contesting the transaction and presenting evidence to the credit card companies, I put the ball in their field and they let the dispute period (60 days) expire.

I now have all the $12,000 back! I wonder how prostitution and drug use are illegal. If consenting adults can do that, why not this? Or why not Zoidberg? Are there any former Scientology rehabilitation groups? Just curious. That`s why the HBO documentary was interesting. I am curious to know how it was presented to the company, because its cost must be immense. On the legal front, [HBO has hired 160 lawyers in anticipation of the inevitable legal battle that the documentary will provoke]. This topic is essentially off-limits to independent filmmakers and small businesses, and by its very nature, a big gun like HBO had to be ready to adopt it. So much that it doesn`t matter, if someone wants to agree to die peacefully or allow drugs, inhalation or injection, it`s illegal. But it`s not necessarily exclusive to Scientology. If you were to do an exhibition on, say, Disney. They should also have a strong legal defense strategy. Admittedly, I don`t think Disney is as aggressive about its brand as Scientology.

I recently watched the BBC`s Scientology & Me, and all the time I thought: How is this legal? How can the church get away with defamation by digging up private/confidential information and leaking it to the public or blackmailing a person? Similarly, I would wonder whether, if consent is given to rehabilitation, members will be made aware of things like The Hole or other similar facilities. Because, to my legal knowledge, if consent is obtained by deception or omission, the recipient of consent cannot be retained by his original promise. Only governments have the power to legally imprison. (unless America has another stupid law) Because it makes pedophilia acceptable, it takes a lot of money and. Hmm. The difference is that they persecute people and force people to leave the family. Because you should be. Things like this are pretty much only discovered by dedicated local journalists like you.

You may not hear enough (or not at all), but your work is not only appreciated, but an integral part of our functioning society. Thank you very much. What`s the best way to draw attention to their shady transactions? Diclaimer: Scientology is terrible. It is not a good idea for anyone to become a member. I hope people will realize from this post and discussion that no one is really invulnerable to this. Messages like this (I know it`s not the first) help promote a massive but obviously incomplete awareness of this cult. I can certainly appreciate the skeptics in the comments who managed to interpret my comments as pro-scientology, I just wanted to recognize how the organization can attract people. To be clear, DON`T YOU JOIN SCIENTOLOGY!!!! I CAN`T BE MORE DIRECT. DON`T EVEN LOOK AT IT. HELP YOUR FRIENDS AVOID OR LEAVE IT. IT IS A CULT.

BAAAAAAAD. Please watch documentaries about Scientology at the end of this article. Encourage your mother to see a therapist. Encourage your father-in-law to encourage your mother to see a therapist. If your mom already sees one, see if you can show up to a session and tell her what your mom told you.
