Agents licensed in the real estate industry who sell flood insurance must complete a unique 3-hour continuing education course related to the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Online exams must be proctored by an altruistic third party. An altruistic third party certifies that the licensee completed the verification without assistance (i.e. closed book, no tiles, overlay screens, etc.) and is someone who has no financial interest in the success or failure of the student`s ability to maintain their license. The instructor must complete the declaration of conformity online. If the licensee begins the exam without the presence of an instructor, they will be disqualified from receiving continuing education credits for the course. Completion of the Declaration of Compliance confirms understanding and compliance with the specific requirements of the State Department of Insurance. The Declaration of Compliance is submitted electronically to Kaplan at the end of the audit and may be reviewed for compliance. The requirement for training in licensing law came into effect on July 1, 2016. To be a course that meets the requirements of teaching licensing law, the course must be approved by the GREC as such. Sellers must complete a 25-hour post-license sales course during the first year of the license. During the first year of the bachelor`s degree, sellers must successfully complete an approved course as a 25-hour course for sellers after the license. Insurance producers who have had a life insurance authority since March 1, 2016 and who wish to sell annuities must meet the training requirement by September 1, 2016. If you have rights acquired from GREC and therefore do not need continuing education to renew your licence, the licence requirement does not apply to you.
