Prior to joining Golder, Mr. Stubblebine was Chief Counsel in the Design and Consulting Services Group of a global engineering services firm. Previously, he was Vice President and Division Counsel of another global engineering, design and construction company, where he was responsible for all legal matters within the Infrastructure and Environment Department. At the firm, he also acted as corporate counsel on anti-corruption compliance. Tony joined Golder Associates in 2001. He combines an in-depth understanding of business with legal team structures. His focus on efficiency, cost-effectiveness and effective leadership was recognized at the Canadian InHouse Innovatio Awards, a celebration of in-house counsel in the Canadian legal marketplace.

Tony leads Golder`s in-house legal department and leads a team responsible for all legal matters within Golder`s Canadian operations. The main objective of the legal team is to minimize and mitigate project risks in engineering, construction and consulting contracts. In addition to this core function, the legal team supports all corporate matters, both in Canada and globally. He succeeds Stephen Dale as General Counsel at WSP. Dale is now President of the Southeast Region for WSP. David has extensive experience handling complex class actions and litigation, including high-stakes national compensation and hours disputes. David defends employers in class, multi-plaintiff, and multi-district class actions and hourly class action lawsuits involving claims for misclassification of employees, improper compensation, off-hours work, and meal and rest violations. David also provides preventative advice and advice to employers who wish to limit their exposure to investigations and litigation under the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act and state laws requiring employers to pay overtime and minimum wages to their employees. Stubblebine has over 30 years of experience in engineering, construction and construction law. Since January 2016, he has been Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary at Golder, a global consulting firm providing geoscience and environmental consulting services. Results in these cases include: Stubblebine holds a bachelor`s degree in engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, a master`s degree in civil engineering from George Washington University, and a juris doctorate from Widener University School of Law.

Stubblebine began his career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and spent the last three of his seven years as a licensed professional engineer and design project manager. He then joined a regional architecture, engineering, planning and construction management firm, where he opened and managed an office providing design and program management services. Stubblebine also practiced engineering and construction law in the Construction practice group of Kirkpatrick & Lockhart, LLP, where he represented owners, engineers and contractors.
